Special 2015 Rafting Adventures
12-Day Dory and Music Trip July 5-16
Colorado River Through Ruby, Horsethief, Westwater
and Cataract Canyon
Ride the Colorado River through the heart of Canyon Country on hard hulled dories. This trip will start at Loma, Colorado and travel all the way to the former headwaters of Lake Powell. The trip is being organized and led by boat builder and musician Andy Hutchinson and author and historian Brad Dimock. Brad has researched and written three significant river history books: The Doing of the Thing, about Buzz Holstrom's solo trip through the Grand Canyon in 1937; Sunk Without A Sound, the story of Glen and Bessie Hyde, who mysteriously disappeared during their Grand Canyon boating honeymoon in 1928; and The Very Hard Way , a biography and recounting of the life and adventures of Bert Loper. This special rafting trip will take you through the Canyons of Westwater and Cataract, where the Colorado River still flows untamed and undimmed. The section of this trip from Loma to Westwater will be operated through licensed Colorado River outfitter Adventure Bound
